A male pedestrian was killed in an accident in Kearny Mesa on Interstate 15. According to KUSI News, the crash, involving a Nissan Altima, happened around 1:40 a.m. near the Aero Drive off-ramp from I-15 south. The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene of questioning, and told the officer, that he had struck the pedestrian near the start. The pedestrian has not been identified. According to NBC San Diego Channel Seven News, the collision happened sometime around 4:30 a.m., near the Aliso Creek rest area. Initial reports indicate that two people were in the vehicle when it rolled. The surviving victim was airlifted to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. 101 Injury Crash On Saturday, at least one person was injured in a rollover crash on Highway 101. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the wreck was reported at 11:24 a.m. For currently unknown reasons, a northbound vehicle overturned on the roadway. The vehicle actually came to rest in a southbound lane of Highway 101. This apparent one-car rollover crash happened just south of Gaviota Tunnel. Crews were swiftly on the scene were multiple drivers were pulled over to offer help. An injured victim was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. Mother and Son Killed in Separate Wrecks Over the weekend, a mother and son died in separate wrecks in northern San Luis Obispo County. According to the San Luis Obispo Tribune, 56-year-old Donna Dean Magee of Templeton died on Saturday afternoon following a one-vehicle truck crash on Highway 58 in Creston. Just 16 hours later, her son, 35-year-old Zackariah Lopez, was killed in a motorcycle crash in Atascadero. A passenger in Magee’s truck was also hospitalized in the crash. Teen Helps Elderly Couple Trapped in Wreckage On Saturday, a teenager from San Diego was one of the first people on the scene of a hit-and-run crash in Loma Portal. According to NBC San Diego Channel Seven News, the incident happened near the intersection of Chatsworth Boulevard and Elliot Street.
