Majed Nachawati, a co-founder of Fears | Nachawati Law Firm, recently completed a three month term as The Grand Jury Foreman of a Dallas County Grand Jury. In honor of the fine job the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office does on a daily basis, Mr. Nachawati has donated 100{9c067c25ed205f086ce6001901eb13dfadc688a7aefab9f64e0c55b8c5a55872} of the income he received to The Texas Crime Victims’ Compensation Fund. Drunk Driving Accident Leaves Several in Critical Condition in Pontiac, Michigan

Pictured above: a picture of three of the four injured in the accident Over the weekend, a horrific accident occurred in Pontiac, Michigan that left several people severely and critically injured. The accident happened when Leshia Barnes, a 24-year-old woman from Pontiac, ran a red light and T-boned a Pontiac Montana. She had struck the minivan hard enough to push it back into a nearby, trailing Dodge Magnum. The driver of the Pontiac, a 23-year-old woman, is now in serious condition. Her 3-year-old daughter is unfortunately now on life support and her 16 year-old brother and his 2-year-old son were also critically injured. Barnes herself was also hospitalized with injuries. In 2012, Reuters published a piece that touched on the hesitancy that some doctors felt about a new generation of blood thinners, one of which was Xarelto. In 2011, the FDA had approved Xarelto for prophylaxis of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in patients undergoing hip or knee replacement surgeries. A few months later, in November of 2011, the FDA approved it for a second use, for stroke prophylaxis in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation. This condition affects about 3 million Americans and Xarelto, a once-daily pill, was meant to decrease the chances that patients with this illness would develop blood clots in a storage chamber of the heart. After transvaginal mesh products began to be introduced to the pharmaceutical market, many women thought that the mesh devices would bring them comfort after suffering from intimate discomforts like pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and stress urinary incontinence (SUI).
